MEET THE TEAM
New Social Worker COMING SOON (Social Worker, Elder Abuse Response)
Amanda Pearson (Health Promotions Coordinator)
I have lived in the Horowhenua for the past 22 years and have actively been involved in the community through health and fitness, property management and education. My outgoing personality and experience with people of all ages has led me to my position here at Age Concern, as Health Promotions Coordinator. I would love to introduce you to our Steady As You Go & Silver Sneakers classes so come on down and join in!
See you here 😊
Christy Mueller (Visiting Service Coordinator)
Christy is a bright and bubbly person, who really enjoys working with people. Having been a volunteer herself, Christy knows that volunteering improves mood, self-esteem and physical health. As our Visiting Service Coordinator she does the recruitment, police checking and matches clients and volunteers. Christy upskills our volunteers and keeps this vital service running smoothly.
Jo Blanche (Community Support Enrolled Nurse)
I hail from the UK, and came to NZ as a child with my grandparents. I have been an enrolled nurse for nearly 40 years and have worked in dementia and mental health for 24 years. I have a huge respect and dignity for each individual and what they have achieved throughout their lives.
I have a huge amount of knowledge and experience to impart on us all.
Annette Hannam (Manager)
Many of you know me from my previous role as Elder Abuse Response Service Social Worker and know that I have only recently moved from Australia to New Zealand. With over 26 years of social work experience mostly in the health field, and with over 18 years in senior and leadership roles, I am very grateful to be working here in Levin with Age Concern Horowhenua and as part of such a passionate and dedicated team. I believe every person deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, compassion and dignity, particularly the elders of our community, and that's what I strive to do in this role. With lots of input from our members and our dynamic team, I'd like to see Age Concern Horowhenua develop and increase our capacity to meet the identified needs of the older people in our community.
