WHEN Would You, At Foxton Beach, Like An Exercise Class?

Mike Riversdale • July 8, 2025

We're setting a Steady As You Go exercise class in Foxton Beach, BUT when suits you?

  • Falls are the most common cause of injury in older people.
  • Falls can lead to a significant loss of mobility and quality of life.
  • One third of people over the age of 65 fall each year!
  • Falls in older people are usually associated with weakened leg muscles and poor balance.
  • Falls do not have to be a ‘natural part of ageing’ & are DEFINETLY preventable!

Our ‘Steady As You Go’ exercise classes are designed to improve:

  • Balance and leg strength
  • Flexibility
  • General fitness and wellbeing
  • Help to prevent a fall
  • A great way to have fun, get fit & meet new people.

Classes consist of a combination of sitting, standing & walking exercises, & take around an hour. They are ideal for complete beginners, are ongoing and you can find out how you’ve improved over your first 10 weeks.

Classes are established by one of our staff members with the aim of becoming peer-led at the end of 10 weeks.
