Elder Abuse Awareness: Thelma movie

Mike Riversdale • May 30, 2025

To acknowledge World Elder Abuse Awareness Week 15 – 22 June, you're going to the movies

Thelma (played by June Squibb) is a movie about an older person who is financially scammed online and goes on an adventure to retrieve her money.

This is a ticketed event and tickets are very limited, restricted to a maximum of 40.

It will be screened in the large community room on:

  • Wednesday 18th, 12:30pm – 2:30pm
  • Age Concern Horowhenua, 526 Queen Street East, Levin

Expect a red carpet, cinema refreshments, and a decorated office with staff to match.

Dress up in your finery, get your photo taken, and enjoy an afternoon at the movies, all for free.

To get a ticket (one ticket per person), please call in or phone Age Concern Horowhenua and answer the question, “When is Elder Abuse Awareness Week?”

[HINT: the answer is above]
